Conference "Psychological therapies for anxiety and depression: costs and benefits"

On the 18th and 19th November 2016, the Department of General Psychology, in collaboration with our research group and the colleagues of the Clinical Psychophysiology lab (Prof. Daniela Palomba, Prof. Giulia Buodo, Prof. Claudio Gentili, Dr. Simone Messerotti Benvenuti, and Dr Elisabetta Patron), held a conference on evidence-based psychological interventions for anxiety and depression on the behalf of Prof. Ezio Sanavio, entitled: “Psychological therapies for anxiety and depression: costs and benefits” [“Terapie psicologiche per ansia e depressione: costi e benefici”].
The conference covered a particularly hot topic in Italy, where improvements in the spreading of evidence-based psychological treatments are still highly needed; professionals in clinical and health psychology operating all around the country participated. Along with the participation of important delegates of both national and local institutions, the guest speaker of the conference was Prof. David Clark from the University of Oxfrod (UK), who thoroughly described to the audience his extremely relevant work in providing psychological therapies in UK through the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) National Health Service (UK) initiative.
As one of the main results of the conference, a programmatic document was produced.
